Lost Caryatids
The photographs below show the caryatids that were discovered recently in the grounds of
a hall! They show two of the Coade stone originals removed around
1895/97. Thereafter they were
recast in concrete. So, they are nearly 200 years old! |

Prestigious Awards
• Monday 15th May at the Kensington roof gardens in London the project was awarded a Bronze award under the banner of the "Green Apple Awards 2006 for the Built Environment and our Architectural Heritage.
This is a prestigious recognition scheme that support's the
Government's Civic Pride campaign.
• On Thursday 11th May, the Trust was outright regional winner of the RICS East of England Building Conservation Award.

Restoration of Nelson's Monument, also known as the Norfolk Naval Pillar, began back on August 2nd 2004, and was completed on
October 20th 2005 one day before the bicentenary of Trafalgar.
The Norfolk Historic Buildings Trust managed the restoration project, consolidating the Monument for future generations, to bring its history
to life for local people and visitors alike.
On Thursday 11th May, the Trust was outright regional winner of the RICS East of England Building Conservation Award.
